According to the ancient scriptures, Parad is considered one of the
purest of all metals. Parad beads are strung together in the form of a
rosary which is either worn around the neck or waist. The Parad mala is
useful in curing a number of diseases like heart ailments, stress,
mental depression, etc. Parad malas are used as "Japa" malas and also as fashion accessories. The beads are available in different sizes like 2 mm, 4 mm, 4.5 mm, 5 mm, 6mm and 9 mm. The combination of the Japa malas varies and the Parad malas are available in a number of combinations like 54 + 1, 108 + 1 etc. The weight of Parad malas is usually around 245 - 260 grams. Parad Malas cannot be worn with gold because Parad forms a layer on gold and spoils it.
Parad malas are also available in a combination with beads of Rudraksha, Sphatik etc. The Rudraksha beads are usually 5 - 5.5 mm in size and the Parad beads are 4 mm in size. The beads are strung on a strong red thread with knots in between the beads.
Another type of mala that is available is the single Parad bead mala that has a Parad bead about 10 - 12 grams in weight. The solid Mercury bead is threaded to be worn around the neck as a locket to get protection against evil spirits and negative vibrations.
Parad rings are also available and are worn round the finger to provide a powerful and agile body. It is common for Parad rings to leave some green or blackish green marks around the finger. The rings are also beneficial for de-stressing mind and body.
