
Kanchipuram/Kanchi is located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and
considered to be one of the India's Seven Sacred places. This place is
the second holiest place after Varanasi. It is a temple town dedicated
to lord Shiva and originally was the historical capital of the Pallavas.
There are several magnificent ancient temples of unique architectural beauty in
Kanchi. The most notable one is the
Ekambaranatha Temple which
is one of the five form of abodes of Lord Shiva.

of Kanchi. Considered to be the "Golden city of Thousand Temples"
and the seat of Shankarcharya, Kanchipuram is visited by thousands of

(spiritual teacher) are studied at and propagated by the
Shankaracharya
Muth and the headquarters of the
"Muth" is
situated at Kanchipuram.
